The basic principals between online and offline is the same - joint ventures are simply solving someone else's problem where there is a win-win-win solution for everyone involved.
Another way of thinking about it is exactly the same as you help your friends except at a business level and with a few modifications.
Tell me if you had a friend who was looking for a good hairdresser, and you have an excellent hairdresser, would you hesitate in suggesting your hairdresser? No, of course you wouldn't because you want to help your friend.
Joint ventures in the business world is the same. If you know a business that is looking for a new refrigerator and you know someone who has one that they haven't been able to sell and you introduce the 2 parties, you can get paid for helping them both solve their problems. This creates a win-win-win situation.
There are a lot of variations to how you can use joint ventures. The end result should always be a win-win situation ideally with no risk, no or low cost to set up and takes very little time to implement and you only get paid if you get a result for your client.
